Five-point self-check

Are you ready for JLPT N2 practice?

  1. 1I can read general-topic articles and explanations while inferring some unfamiliar language from context.

  3. 3I can track an argument across multiple paragraphs and identify the writer’s conclusion or purpose.

Pick a realistic schedule

JLPT N2 preparation plans

30 days

Best for: Strong N3 learners already reading and listening to Japanese every day

  1. 1.Take timed Language Knowledge and Reading plus Listening diagnostics and rank errors by scoring section.
  2. 2.Use most study time on the weakest section, with daily review of nuanced vocabulary and grammar.
  3. 3.Practice the 105-minute combined section repeatedly so reading receives enough time after language questions.

90 days

Best for: Intermediate learners who know the core material but need N2 depth and speed

  1. 1.Use month one to close high-frequency vocabulary, kanji, and grammar gaps with sentence-level context.
  2. 2.Use month two for sustained reading, viewpoint comparison, and near-natural listening without constant replay.
  3. 3.Use month three for full timed sections, error logs, pacing adjustments, and sectional-minimum checks.

6 months

Best for: N3-level learners building upper-intermediate reading and listening stamina

  1. 1.Build language knowledge steadily while reading general articles and explanatory texts several times a week.
  2. 2.Increase listening speed and variety with news-style reports, discussions, and unscripted everyday speech.
  3. 3.Begin focused item-type drills by month four and alternate timed sections with deep review in the final two months.
